Squam Lakes Natural Science Center

You know you are homeschoolers when your children refer to any and every outing as a field trip!
And we have been on a lot field trips this summer!
I'm really behind on posting pictures.

A few weeks ago we took the kids to Squam Lakes Natural Center in Holderness, NH.

This place was so cool!  The kids learned so much because everything was presented in such an interesting and engaging manner.

The animal exhibits included a skunk (nobody's favorite), bobcats, deer, black bears, birds, a mountain lion (everyone's favorite) and lots more!

In addition to the animals, there were also interactive games and puzzles for the children to enhance their learning.  Even Jami had fun!

In between the exhibits were hiking trails, although John thought they were running trails!

And yes, sometimes mid-June weather in New Hampshire requires a fleece.
At least it does if you are from Florida!

That looks like a fun place, other than the skunk! I wonder if they took it's sprayer out, I think that is possible, otherwise it seems like it would be getting scared and stinking up it's space all the time
